First Coat of sealant. I used a cheap foam brush to apply interlux interprime wood sealer. Great stuff, but Thinned down varnish does the same thing

later in the project I ended up pulling of the white piece of vinyl, used a stripper to remove the adhesive, and varnished the ply under it. So glad
