Oh yeah, I'm also fighting Cogon grass, one of the worst top ten invasive grasses in the world. It can have 3 tons of underground rhizomes per acre!

Apparently, a bird sat atop this fence post in my driveway recently and took a poop, dropping a sunflower seed down, which took root and bloomed. We let it grow and now it's fully flowered. Neat-o. (took the pic this morning.)

I found a couple pix from 2014 showing how much the birds love a good water feature. This feature was set up in our front tree island. It eventually rusted through and was trashed. :sneaky:

I learned that they're very particular about their housing requirements. They want the bluebird house mounted 6 to 8 feet above the ground, facing southeast. And they prefer that it look over a field or open ground. They also need water nearby and we keep plenty of water dishes out front.
So...
A pic I took late this morning on a windy, rainy day through a rainy window some 70 feet away, of the male Eastern Bluebird on his favorite limb overlooking "His Domain." He and his lady are nesting in our new box at its new location, planted per bluebird specs. :D
