    PSA for inboard gas owners.....

I have always wondered why a fume/gas detector wasn't a Coast Guard requirement on boats after a certain size with closed architecture. I really like this idea, thanks!

Power steering fluid vs transmission fluid

My Bravo One service manual indicates either can be used...

    Bourbon, surprised!

Speaking of bourbon...what's the thought on these high-alcohol content products...such as Elijah Craig (140 proof). I've read that since these are typically not 'cut' with water, that more of the flavors and 'essence' come through...but Jeebus! 140 proof? Can you taste ANYTHING at those levels?

    Perpetual Debt

I've never found a boat to be a burden, and I have had many over the years. Expenses for the boat simply were allowed for in my budget...even when I had a boat payment. And at least in my case, keeping the boat with a very high degree of maintenance eliminated unexpected costs. Now I, and I...

best muffs to use on mercruisers?

I've found the 'dual feed' models to work far superior to others. Some boats aren't finicky at all about taking water, some will almost DEFY you every time. These muffs take care of all types.

    Valve Lubricant

Marvel Mystery Oil is simply incredible...highly recommend its use. Likely the Mercruiser valve lubricant product is NLA is due to catalyst damage potential.

    MCM 7.4 oil

Good stuff here...unlike most oil threads! Now I happen to remember this from another forum...it seems that the dino 25W40 I run is loaded with zinc?

2012 F150 3.5 EB turbo(2) oil change, low miles on oil

I have a 2020 F-150 with the Coyote V8, similar situation in that I just don't drive it much, really only to do "truck stuff" like hauling the boat or getting lumber; as such I don't even put 5,000 miles per year on it...but I still change the oil every 12 months or so at the dealership, rotate...

How do I safely remove anti-siphon and intake line?

Terrible picture... So are you saying you have removed the hose and hose barb and now are just trying to get the 90 degree fitting (the "square head") off? Typically these are brass, and will have some sort of thread sealer on them. Liberal application of Break Free, PB Blaster, Kroil, etc is...

    Power steering fluid in bilge?

In my case, because it was SUCH a mess, I dumped in two gallons of SUPERCLEAN, about a half-bottle of Dawn, and then blasted in about 30 gallons of water. The chemicals emulsified the oil and essentially held it in suspension. Drained it, got a bunch of towels jammed in wherever I could...

    Power steering fluid in bilge?

Well...don't get TOO comfortable...I had a similar experience a couple of years ago with my Mercruiser 454/Bravo One power steering cooler. I am meticulous about a hyper-clean bilge so you can imagine my horror when I saw a reddish stain in the bilge. Checked everything I could ran it more...
